CED, the Spanish Committee of Detergents, Surfactants and related industries, was founded in 1957. It is an independent and not-for-profit organisation based in Barcelona. Objetives • To spread knowledge of this specific field through Congresses, Technical Conferences and Seminars. • To advise knowledge of this specific field through Congresses, Technical Conferences and Seminars. • To prepare technical reports and render services to companies belonging to this sector through the CSIC based in Barcelona. • To bring together all those who are interested in science and technology through the recognised annual conference: "CED Annual Meeting". • To provide teachers for specialist courses and post-graduate courses in collaboration with different Universities, Research Centres and Professional Schools. • To maintain and promote on-going relationships with institutions with similar interests, both from Spain and abroad. (AENOR, AISE, CESIO,...)
• To benefit from special discounts when registering in Congresses, Technical Conferences and Seminars organised by CED. • To enjoy discounts and preferential treatment when asking for reports or services to CSIC through CED. • The right to use the CSIC library in Barcelona where it is possible to find an extensive section dedicated to themes relating to surfactant substances, detergents and cosmetics
It is a Congress with international prestige that has been held year after year since 1970. Though mainly from Europe, approximately 350 delegates from all over the world gather together in Barcelona each year. At present, this is the only event of its kind in Europe that is held annually. The topics that are presented in these conferences can be classified in three broad areas: Technical Analysis Economic Prices Legal Security Publications Every year, CED edits a book that compiles all papers presented during this annual meeting. Organisation The bodies directing and executing CED are as follows: General Assembly Is the main CED body, with the authority to make decisions. All members have the right to participate. Board of Management It is elected by the General Assembly and constituted by the President, the First Vicepresident, the Second Vicepresident, the Secretary, the Treasurer and six members |
